Dieter Dammeier, a former police officer and now attorney, has negotiated 100's of police labor contracts. His success at the bargaining table has led to the point where he now represents more police associations in negotiating police labor contracts than any other attorney in California. You will learn from Mr. Dammeier the tricks and tools he has used over the years to obtain record breaking contracts for his clients. You will be able to develop a short term plan for those going into negotiations this year and a long term plan for future years to put you and your members into the best bargaining position possible.
Michael McGill, a partner at LDM who handles all the Firm's wage and overtime litigation will provide an update on the FLSA. It is anticipated that the pivital decision now infront of the Federal Court of Appeal will be decided on if and to what extent donning and doffing of police uniforms and equipment will be compensable.
Saku Ethir, is one of the Firm's senior attorneys and has more wins in the last decade in police discipline cases than any other LDF Panel Attorney in California. She will give you her insight on how to increase your odds of surviving a serious allegation of misconduct from the initial investigation and up through the appeal hearing.
